I have a credit card (Chase Visa) that changes the due date EVERY month. The date for April payment due is April 3rd. Months befor this were the 8th 5th and 6th of the month due. April 3rd is the very first business day of this particular month, falling on a Monday, this year. Normally I would not even have noticed this as I allmost have this card paid off. I went back and pulled the last 4 statements, actually all that I had and none were ever due before the 5TH of the month, till now.
Is this a cute trick, that they hope I might not catch and be charged a late fee? I pay ALL my bills on line the 1st business day of the month. Plus I looked at one other credit card I have and the date due was the same each of the last three months.

If not a trick--VERY STRANGE.

my guess is that if you read the cardholder agreement (the one with the print so small you need a magnifying glass to read) they can do it. Credit cards can be very helpful, but the credit card companies can nail you if you're not careful.
Things like late fees and higher interest rates. Also miss a payment on something like your car and they can trigger the unverisal default clause and raise your rate to the max even if you have a perfect history with the card company.
